Authorities Seeking Suspected Mankato Shooter who Caused Lockdown (Update)
Update 9/18/22 7:30 a.m. Mankato Public Safety announced the arrest of 30-year-old Bashir Mohammed Saturday evening. A statement indicates he was booked into jail and that charges have not yet been determined.
Previous Version: Mankato, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities are seeking the man suspected of being involved in a shooting that prompted a shelter-in-place and a lockdown at the Mayo Clinic campus in Mankato.
Mankato Public Safety says 30-year-old Bashir Mohammed is suspected of opening fire and wounding a person known to him around 9 a.m. Friday in the 100 block of Echo St. The gun shot victim suffered a non-life-threatening wound.
Mohamed is described 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. He was last seen on the 100 block of Echo Street. The vehicle he was seen driving is a 2010, four-door gray Honda Accord with a Minnesota license plate that reads WV2568.
Officials say Mohammed is considered to be armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him, someone matching the description, or has information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or 507-387-8725.
