Firefighters Rescue Stranded Hikers from Southeast Minnesota Bluff
Red Wing, MN (KROC-AM News)- Southeastern Minnesota firefighters saved a pair of stranded hikers from a bluff Wednesday morning.

A news release issued by the Red Wing Fire Department says the rescue operation got started around 10:30 a.m.
The hikers, who the news release indicates were injured, became stranded off of a walking trail, officials say.
Firefighters Rescue Pair of Stranded Hikers on Bluff in Red Wing, MN
The technical rescue occurred at the He Mni Can-Barn Bluff in Red Wing. Upon arrival, firefighters began ascending up the bluff to try and find the stranded hikers.
First responders also deployed a drone in an attempt to locate the two individuals. Emergency personnel reached the stranded hikers about an hour after starting the rescue operation, the news release says.
They were then transported down to the ground. Officials have not released the names or conditions of the reduced hikers.
The Red Wing Police Department, Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol Air Rescue Team and the Red Wing Department of public works were involved in the rescue.
The Ellsworth Ambulance Service covered EMS service in Red Wing during the technical rescue, the news release says.
