$42M Graham Park Project in Rochester Reaches Major Milestone
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - An event on Friday marked a major milestone in the construction of a new exhibition center at Graham Park in Rochester.
Traditional Beam Signing Ceremony
Members of the Olmsted County Board, county staff, and local lawmakers, along with representatives from the Kraus-Anderson construction project, participated in the beam-signing ceremony. The construction industry tradition accompanies the installation of the final structural beam for the structure on the property, which is home to the annual Olmsted County Fair.
Groundbreaking Last Summer
A groundbreaking ceremony for the project was held in late July last year to mark the beginning of the $42 million construction project. The new 80,000-square-foot building will feature a 125-by-250-foot main show arena with seating for 1,500 spectators, along with a warm-up arena, space for 250 portable stalls, and “modern accommodations for visitors, exhibitors, and animals.”
Project Completion in Early 2027
County officials say the new facility was designed to host a wide range of events and activities, including trade and livestock shows. It is anticipated to be completed early next year, although an outdoor activity area and nearby green space are slated to be ready for use during the 2026 Olmsted County Fair.

The next phase of the construction project involves the installation of the exterior walls and roof on the structure. A news release says workers will also continue installing the mechanical and electrical systems, along with additional utility work, and the installation of sidewalks and curbs.
