Big Jackpot Win Of Nearly $1.3 Million Reported In Minnesota
Now that the Powerball jackpot has reached $1.1 billion ahead of the drawing on Monday, December 15, that lottery game is deservedly getting all the headlines.
However, there are many other lottery games to try if you're feeling lucky, and while they won't make you a billionaire right now, winning over $1 million would certainly be a fantastic way to celebrate the holiday season.
That's exactly what happened recently to some lucky person in Minnesota who tried their luck at a lottery game that's exclusive to the state.

Minnesota Lottery Announceds $1,299,462 Gopher 5 Win
The Minnesota Lottery reported that someone in the state had won nearly $1.3 million playing the Gopher 5 game.
Gopher 5 is a lotto game exclusive to Minnesota. Tickets are $1 per play, and the jackpot starts at $100,000 and grows until someone has all five winning numbers. The Minnesota Lottery notes that a portion of every dollar played helps protect Minnesota’s great outdoors.
Winning numbers are drawn around 6:17 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Friday, December 12, the Gopher 5 jackpot had grown to $1,299,462. That evening, the following winning numbers were drawn: 4-21-25-26-38.
Those lucky numbers happened to be on a ticket purchased in Brooklyn Park, and now there's a new millionaire in Minnesota. The winning ticket was purchased at the Speedway located at 7601 Jolly Lane.
As of December 15, the Minnesota Lottery had that big win listed as unclaimed. Hopefully, whoever won the jackpot hears the news and still has that winning ticket in their possession.

Unless they decide to come forward publicly, we may never know who that person is. Lottery regulations are in place to protect winners who win over $10,000. Big-money winners can become targets for scammers and fraud, so the Minnesota Lottery will not divulge their name unless they first agree to it.
Remember, if you're a Minnesota Lottery player, you can always use its number checker to see if you're holding a winning ticket.
