Hastings, MN (KROC-AM News) - Police in Hastings are investigating the discovery of a body next to a Mississippi River boat landing.

A news release says the Hastings Fire Department responded early Saturday morning to Jaycee Park where a fire had been reported at the boat landing. A wooden enclosure was engulfed in flames, and while Hastings police officers were assisting firefighters at the scene, the body was found near the enclosure.


The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the State Fire Marshal, and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner were called to assist in the investigation. The identity of the deceased and the cause of death have not been determined.
