Brazen Burglar Pleads Guilty to Rochester Break-in
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A young man caught in a couple’s bedroom foraging through a woman's jewelry has pleaded guilty. 19-year-old Dylan Sutter went before an Olmsted County Judge today and admitted to a first-degree aggravated robbery charge for a break in last September at a home in Rochester’s Elton Hills neighborhood.
The victims woke up around 3 in the morning on September 12th and found Sutter in their bedroom holding a flashlight and going through the 62-year-old woman’s jewelry. The 64-year-old man tried to grab the intruder, but he managed to break free and ran out of the home in the 2600 block of 11th Avenue Northwest.
Sutter was arrested after he was found sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle that was seen in the vicinity of the crime scene. Police reports said the arresting officer found a watch stolen from the home and clothing items matching those worn by the burglar inside the vehicle.
Sutter is scheduled to be sentenced on July 30th.
