Byron Boy Injured in Weekend ATV Crash
Stewartville, MN (KROC-AM News) - A young boy from Byron was airlifted to St. Mary's hospital following an all-terrain vehicle crash Saturday night.
Olmsted County Sheriff's Captain Scott Behrns says the incident occurred around 7:45 p.m. at a rural property in the 2400 block of 98th Street Southeast in Pleasant Grove Township about three miles northeast of Stewartville. Captain Behrns says nine-year-old Chase Hoffman was visiting a relative's home and was maneuvering the four-wheeler to park it in a garage when he apparently turned too sharply and the ATV rolled over.
The boy was wearing a helmet but was not seatbelted, and his right leg became pinned under the ATV. Behrns says it appeared he suffered a significant lower leg injury.
