According to the Sheriff's Office, Blenker is an employee of the zoo and was escorting a camel through an alleyway when the camel placed the man's head into its mouth and bit down. It then dragged the man by his head for about 15 feet before another employee was able to place a plastic walking board into the camel's mouth and release Blenker's head.

At that point, Blenker was able to stand on his own and run to safety. The news release says the camel then charged at the other employee and bit his head. He was able to escape on his own and refused medical treatment.
