Car Involved in Rochester Shooting Catches Fire
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - More troubles for a Rochester woman whose car was shot at earlier this week.
The 21-year-old called 911 Thursday evening to report the car was on fire.
Police had seized the car after Tuesday's shooting near Eastwood Golf Course and returned it Thursday. The woman says the car overheated while she was driving home. When she stopped at a friend’s home, it burst into flames. No word on the extent of damage.
Officers were told the car apparently overheated because the radiator had been hit by a bullet during the shooting.
The car was fired at while she was driving Wednesday afternoon in the 1200 block of Turnberry Dr. SE. Another vehicle pulled alongside and shots rang out. A man in her car got out and fled on foot while a person in the other vehicle kept firing. Bullets hit her car and a nearby home. Police continue looking for the shooter.
