The La Crosse County District Attorney's Office charged 36-year-old Francis Rychtik Senior of Arpin, with five felonies Wednesday in the July crash that killed 29-year-old Jason Songer of La Crescent, Minnesota.

They include homicide by the intoxicated use of a vehicle. He's jailed with cash bond set at $100,000.

Authorities say Rychtik was going 55 mph when he rear-ended Songer's car. The complaint says he told investigators he drank heavily the night before. He had a blood alcohol level of 0.047 percent about three hours after the crash. The legal limit for commercial drivers is 0.04 percent.
