Charges Upgraded Against Two Rochester Shooting Suspects
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Olmsted County prosecutors have amended the criminal complaints against the two men charged with a shooting last month that left a man paralyzed from the neck down.
The new complaints add a charge of first-degree attempted murder to the list of charges faced by 26-year-old Iman Iman and 27-year-old Abdirahman Abdullahi. Both men also face second-degree attempted murder, along with first and second-degree assault charges, while Iman’s complaint also includes a charge for illegal possession of a firearm.
They are accused of being involved in beating and shooting a man in a hallway at the Meadow Park Apartments on August 7th. Iman surrendered to Rochester Police several weeks after the shooting, and Abdullahi was arrested earlier this month after a police officer responding to an unrelated harassment complaint at a local business recognized him among the people at the scene.
Both men remain in the Olmsted County Jail on $5 million bail. Iman is scheduled to appear for an evidentiary hearing on November 5th and Abdullahi has a court appearance on November 19th.
