Chatfield Teen Accused of Impersonating Police Officer
Chatfield, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Olmsted County Attorney’s Office filed charges earlier this week against a Chatfield teenager accused of impersonating a police officer.
Court documents say an Olmsted County Sheriff’s deputy responded to the report of a white SUV using red and blue lights to attempt to pull over motorists shortly before 1:20 a.m. last Sunday. The deputy found and stopped the suspect vehicle along Hwy. 52 near County Rd. 137, which is about four miles north of Chatfield.
The deputy identified the driver as 19-year-old Dallas James Burris. The criminal complaint says the deputy found a suction cup stuck to the interior of the windshield and recovered multiple lights.
Burris admitted to the deputy that the lights were police lights that he flashed at another motorist, the complaint says. Burris is facing a gross misdemeanor charge for impersonating a police officer.
His first court appearance is set for June 20.
