
Two People Hurt After Minivan Crashes Into Rochester Home
UPDATE) - Rochester police now say the people injured in the incident were adults. The initial report indicated that two children had been injured.
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester police say two people were injured when a vehicle crashed into a home in southeast Rochester this morning.
Crash Victims Were Sleeping
Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson says the incident was reported around 6:30 AM in the 2400 block of 18th Lane Southeast near Willow Creek Middle School. She says a minivan crashed into a house, resulting in injuries to two people sleeping inside the residence.
The adults were transported to St. Marys Hospital by Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service as a precaution.
Eyewitness Account
An eyewitness indicated that the driver of the minivan sped through the intersection leaving into the cul-de-sac without slowing and nearly collided with their vehicle before crashing into the house.
Driver Impairment Suspected
The Police Department statement on the incident says the driver of the minivan is suspected of impaired driving. The name of the driver has not been released, and the incident remains under investigation.
