
Cigarette Suspected in Fatal St. Cloud Fire
ST. CLOUD (WJON News) — One person is dead, another hurt, after a house fire in north St. Cloud Sunday afternoon.
70-year-old Sharon Honer is dead after sustaining serious injuries as a result of the fire.
She was initially taken to St. Cloud hospital before transported by helicopter to the Hennepin County Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
A 42-year-old man was also treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Investigators say the fire was not suspicious in nature and is believed to be caused by a cigarette.
St. Cloud Commander Jeff Oxton says the incident happened shortly after 1:30 p.m. at 2041 of Northway Circle in St. Cloud.
The fire was contained to one room of house, causing about $2,000 in damage.
