Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The City of Rochester has hired a new Finance Director to fill a role left vacant with the retirement of longtime director Dale Martinson.
Brian J. Anderson was selected after the city conducted a nationwide search for Martinson's successor but it turns out the city did not have to look too far to find him. Anderson is coming to Rochester from Goodhue County where he has served as the Auditor/Treasurer- Finance Director for five years.
City Administrator Alison Zelms shares, “We are excited to welcome Brian to the City team and
appreciate the skills, expertise and passion he will bring to the organization. Brian’s career represents a
longtime professional commitment to local government service in communities across our state and I
welcome that same dedication as he joins the City of Rochester and contributes to the organizational
vision of delivering service as a “vibrant, compassionate, innovative team.”
Before taking the job with Goodhue County, Anderson worked as the City Administrator for the City of Faribault, City Administrator for Newport Minnesota, and Assistant City Administrator for Lakeville.
Martinson retired after a nearly 30-year career with the city. Anderson is scheduled to report for work in Rochester early next month.
