Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A high-risk sex offender is being released from the Minnesota Sex Offender Program and is moving to Rochester.

A community notification issued by the Rochester Police Department says 55-year-old Brian Lee Buse is moving into a facility at the Olmsted County campus near the Rochester Federal Medical Center on Tuesday. He was previously civilly committed to the state sex offender program as a predatory offender but he has now been provisionally discharged under a court order.

The notification indicates Buse has a history of sexually abusing pre-teen and adult women, using force and threats to gain compliance from his victims. He also sexually assaulted a male inmate at a county jail. Court records show he has several convictions for criminal sexual conduct in the Alexandria area in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
