Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - Four Twin Cities women are facing federal charges connected to a scheme to allegedly defraud a non-profit organization that provides housing and other services to the homeless.

The office of the U.S. Attorney for Minnesota says 48-year-old Clarissa Combs, 54-year-old Bridget Michaud, 54-year-old Jalonda Combs, and 34-year-old Audrey Heath are all accused of conspiring to obtain at least $684,000 from the non-profit organization. Federal prosecutors allege Clarissa Combs recruited other employees of the non-profit, along with family and friends, to pose as fictitious homeless clients.

Officials say five other people previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges stemming from the investigation.
