Costco Food Court Refresh: What Minnesota Members Will Notice

Costco has made several updates over the last couple of years, the most notable being a membership crackdown. Last year, they started assigning employees to self-checkout stations to scan memberships, and introduced membership card scanners at store entrances.

Costco quietly made a major policy change to its Food Court last year and has more changes planned for this year.

Minnesota has 13 Costco locations, each offering exclusive benefits and discounts for members. Shopping at Costco also allows members to buy in bulk, which can result in substantial long-term savings.

How Much Does A Costco Membership Cost in Minnesota?

Costco offers both personal and business memberships, each with its own set of perks. The Executive membership costs $130, while the Business or Gold Star membership is $65.

According to Costco’s website, they have more than 100 million members.

Costco is popular for bulk shopping, but the Food Court is also a favorite spot. I used to have a coworker who visited Costco every day for lunch. He'd grab a large slice of pizza or a hot dog with a soda for just a few bucks.

Until last year, non-members could order from the food court, but that policy has changed. Now, you must have an active Costco membership to order from the food court. Below you'll see some additional food court changes that are coming this year.

Switch to Coca-Cola Products: Costco is switching from Pepsi to Coca-Cola products in the food court starting this summer. The popular $1.50 hot dog and drink combo will remain unchanged in price.
Turkey Provolone Sandwich Returns: The fan-favorite warm turkey provolone sandwich was removed from the menu a few years ago, but will make a comeback this fall.
Strawberry Banana Smoothies: A new strawberry banana smoothie has been introduced for the summer and is already available at Costco locations.
