Sandborn, MN (KROC-AM News)- Two people lost their lives in a crash at a rural intersection in southwest Minnesota

Two vehicles were involved in the fatality. A news release issued by the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office says the deadly collision happened in the southwestern Minnesota county Sunday afternoon. 

Deputies responded to the crash at the intersection of Cottonwood County Roads 11 and 4, which is about 50 miles west of New Ulm around 5:45 p.m.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates an SUV traveling west on County Rd. 11 and a northbound pick-up on County Rd. 4 collided in the intersection.

The driver and passenger in the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene. The person driving the pick-up truck suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to the news release. 

Authorities are withholding the names of the crash victims pending family notification.
