Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The most recent forecast update from the National Weather Service says another 4 to 7 inches of snow is possible across southeastern Minnesota overnight and tomorrow with the potential for higher amounts near the Mississippi River.

As of early Saturday evening, 2 to 4 inches of snow had been added to the layer of ice in the Rochester area, while up to 5 inches of snow was reported in the Wabasha and Lake City areas. Snowfall totals around a foot or higher are common in the Twin Citie, while there are reports of 14 to 15 inches of snow in western Minnesota. At last report, Canby had the highest total at 19 inches.

The Winter Storm Warning in southeastern Minnesota remains in effect through 7 pm Sunday, while areas to the north and west are included in a blizzard warning until 7 am on Sunday.

As of midnight, the State Patrol had responded to over 400 traffic crashes since Friday evening, 47 resulting in serious injuries, 2 serious injuries, and one fatality. In addition, there were over 700 reports of vehicle spin pits.
