
Crash at Southeast Minnesota Intersection Sends Elderly Woman to Hospital
St. Charles, MN (KROC-AM News)- A crash at an intersection in Winona County sent a southeast Minnesota woman to the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

The State Patrol responded to the crash at the intersection of Hwy. 74 and County Rd. 22, which is about four miles north of St. Charles. The two-vehicle collision was reported shortly after 12:30 p.m.
The state crash report indicates an SUV was traveling south on Hwy. 74 and another SUV was eastbound on County Rd. 22 when the two vehicles collided in the intersection.
The driver of the eastbound SUV, identified as 78-year-old Susan Carol Benedett of Altura, was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for treatment of what are described as non-life-threatening injuries.
76-year-old Sandra Kay Bauter of Stewartville was driving the southbound SUV. She was not hurt.
Both drivers were buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the two-vehicle collision, the report says. The St. Charles Police Department, St. Charles Fire Department and St. Charles Ambulance also responded to the crash.
