Elgin, MN (KROC-AM News)- A crash on Monday left a southeast Minnesota man fighting for his life.

A pick-up truck and minivan were involved in the collision. The State Patrol responded to the crash around 3:30 p.m.

It happened at an intersection in Wabasha County

60-Year-Old Elgin Man Flown to St. Mary's Hospital After Crash at Intersection Outside of Plainview

The vehicles collided at the intersection of Hwy. 247 and Wabasha County Rd. 2, which is about four miles west of Plainview. 

The state crash report says the minivan was southbound on County Rd. 2 and the pick-up was heading east on Hwy. 247 when the vehicles collided in the intersection.

60-year-old Jeffrey Allen Rahman of Elgin was identified as the pick-up driver. The State Patrol indicates he was flown to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester with life-threatening injuries.

The State Patrol identified 21-year-old Emma Julia Welliver as the minivan driver. She escaped the crash without injuries. 

Rahman and Welliver were buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the crash, according to the state crash report

Mayo One helicopter, Elgin Fire and Ambulance, the Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office, the Plainview Police Department and the Minnesota Department of Transportation also responded to the crash.
