
Crash at Rochester Intersection Sends Elderly Driver to Hospital
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A crash at a Rochester intersection that’s set to be turned into a roundabout sent an elderly woman to the hospital Monday.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash. First responders were dispatched to the scene shortly before 2 p.m.
The drivers were the only people occupying the vehicles. A car and an SUV were involved in the crash.

Oronoco, MN Woman Taken to Hospital Following Two-Vehicle Crash at Hwy. 63 Intersection in Rochester
The State Patrol responded to the first two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Hwy. 63 and 18th Ave. Northwest.
A sedan traveling south on 18th Ave. crashed into an SUV that was traveling west on Hwy. 63 in the intersection, the state crash report says.
80-year-old Elaine Kay Eck of Oronoco was identified as the car driver. She was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The other driver was identified as 31-year-old Dezmon Lee Johnson. The Rochester man escaped the crash without injuries.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts and alcohol was not involved in the crash, according to the State Patrol.
The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, Mayo Clinic Ambulance and the Rochester Fire Department also responded to the two-vehicle collision.
