Curfew Extended for Minneapolis and St. Paul
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - Minneapolis and St. Paul will remain under overnight curfews for at least two more nights.
Governor Tim Walz today signed another executive order that extends the temporary nighttime curfew for the state's two largest cities. The curfew will be enforced again tonight and tomorrow night between the hours of 10 PM and 4 AM to assist law enforcement agencies in maintaining order in the wake of weekend rioting in the Twin Cities.
The Minnesota National Guard is still involved in a major deployment in support of the law enforcement efforts in the Twin Cities area. Adjutant General Jon Jensen there are still about 5000 guard members activated for the mission, which is down from a peak of about 7000.
