Bemidji, MN (KROC AM News) – A northern Minnesota man was killed Monday in a wrong-way crash near Bemidji.

The State Patrol says a vehicle driven by 73-year-old Margaret Porter of Bemidji was in the wrong lane and collided head-on with a car. Porter suffered life-threatening injuries. A passenger - 82-year-old Russell Porter of Bemidji - was killed. The other driver - 21-year-old Athena Stanek of Fosston - was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

There was an earlier wrong-way deadly wreck in south-central Minnesota involving two pickup trucks. The State Patrol says the driver of one of the trucks crossed the centerline of a road near Hector Sunday night and collided head-on with the other vehicle. The driver of the truck that crossed the centerline suffered non-life threatening injuries. The other driver was killed.

Those were the only fatal traffic wrecks the State Patrol reported during the Memorial Day weekend.
