
Man Killed, 2 Children Hurt in Tractor Crash in South-Central MN
Wells, MN (KROC-AM News) - Authorities in south-central Minnesota are investigating a tragic incident involving a man giving two children a ride on a tractor.
Fatal Tractor Crash Reported Near Wells
The Faribault County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded around 12:45 p.m. yesterday to a report that a tractor had crashed into a ditch along a rural road near a campground on Rice Lake, just south of I-90 and approximately five miles south of Wells. Investigators say it appears the tractor went off the road and into a steep ditch before rolling over.

Man Pronounced Dead at the Scene
A news release says emergency responders discovered a 48-year-old man and two young children, ages 8 and 10, pinned beneath the tractor. The man driving the tractor, Timothy Steinborn of Walters, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two Children Airlifted to Rochester
The 8-year-old child was airlifted to Rochester for treatment at St. Marys Hospital, while the 10-year-old was initially transported by ambulance to a local hospital but was then also airlifted to St. Marys. Information about their medical conditions is not available.
The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting the Faribault County Sheriff's Office with the investigation.
