Deadly Weekend on Minnesota Roads
Undated (KROC-AM News) - There have been at least seven traffic fatalities in Minnesota since Friday morning when a Winona man was killed in a collision with the school bus in Wabasha County.
The list of deadly traffic crashes includes another collision involving a school bus. The State Patrol says a 66-year-old man was killed Friday afternoon when the van he was driving smashed into the rear of the school bus that had stopped along a highway near Ogilvie in Kanabec County in east-central Minnesota Friday afternoon.
Four of the seven victims died in crashes that occurred on Saturday, including two young men from Pierz who were killed in a rollover crash in central Minnesota early Saturday. A 31-year-old motorcyclist was fatally injured Saturday morning when he lost control and crashed along a highway in Nicollet County and a 71-year-old man died Saturday afternoon in a crash involving a car in northwestern Minnesota.
The most recent fatal crash was reported around 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon in Le Sueur County. The State Patrol’s preliminary report indicates two vehicles were involved, but no other details have been released.
