Deputies Bust Massive Drug Growing Operation in Eyota
Eyota, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office busted a massive drug growing operation in Eyota on Monday.
Charges filed in Olmsted County Court Wednesday say deputies executed a search warrant at a residence in the 30 block of Park Dr. Northwest. Law enforcement breached the door of the home after announcing their presence and not receiving a response or detecting movement inside.
The charges say law enforcement obtained the warrant after demonstrating probable cause that 45-year-old Andrew Krukow was growing mushrooms and marijuana in the residence. The charges detail items deputies found inside the home:
Once inside deputies searched the home and discovered 1,158 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 186.1 grams of marijuana, seven amphetamine/dextroamphetamine pills, $2,000 in cash, packaging that indicates drug sales. Law enforcement also recovered seven firearms and ammunition inside of the residence, according to the criminal complaint.
Krukow was arraigned Wednesday on felony charges of first-degree drug sales, first-degree drug possession, two counts of fifth-degree drug possession and a gross misdemeanor charge for having a firearm near a controlled substance.
Court records indicate Krukow posted $10,000 conditional bail Wednesday. His next court appearance is set for February 28.
