Domestic Assault Results in 8 Year Prison Term
A Rochester man was given consecutive sentences that total 8 years in prison Monday for a brutal attack on his live-in girlfriend last year.
45-year-old Daniel Tompkins pleaded guilty in July to felony domestic assault, a terroristic threats charge, and four other related counts through a plea deal that led to the dismissal of a kidnapping charge. He was accused of attacking the 43-year-old victim while the woman’s 7-year-old child was in their apartment.
The police report says Tompkins punched her in the face and choked her so hard she coughed up blood.
