There was a fiery and smoky scene at Mayo Clinic’s downtown campus today during the busy morning commute

when a bus caught fire. Rochester firefighters were sent to the Harwick Building around 7:30 and found the commuter bus still burning. It had parked on 2nd street southwest and all its Mayo passengers had left when the driver noticed smoke at the rear of the bus. He then found a rear tire in flames. The fire began burning another tire and the flames began spreading up the side of the bus before it was put out. No injuries were reported. The bus was hauled away for repairs.
