Washington, DC (KROC AM News) - More people have become sick after eating tainted romaine lettuce that was grown in Salinas, Calif. - including two more Minnesotans.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention first reported the E.coli-related outbreak two weeks ago. At that time, 40 cases from 16 states had been confirmed, including one from Minnesota. In its latest update, the number of confirmed cases has grown to 102 in 23 states.

Two more Minnesota cases have been confirmed.

Wisconsin now has 16 confirmed cases, the highest number of the states affected by the outbreak.

A total of 58 hospitalizations have been reported and 10 involve people who have developed kidney failure. Cases that have been confirmed so far were based on illnesses reported between Sept 24 and Nov 18.
