Fiery Livestock Crash Affecting Traffic on I-90 Near Austin
Austin, MN (KROC-AM News) - Travel on eastbound I-90 in Mower County continues to be impacted by a fiery crash involving a semi-truck transporting pigs.
The State Patrol says an undetermined number of pigs were killed when the driver of the livestock truck lost control and crashed into the guardrail and bridge at the exit to the Beaver Trails Jellystone Campgrounds and Rose Creek. Officials reported the driver, identified as 52-year-old David Hoover of Charles City, Iowa, was transported to St. Mary’s hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash was reported just after 3 AM. Both eastbound lanes were closed for about six hours, but the Minnesota Department of Transportation is now reporting only the left lane is still closed.
