Elderly Driver Injured in Crash at Pine Island
Pine Island, MN (KROC-AM News) - An elderly motorist was transported to St. Marys Hospital following a rollover crash near Rochester this afternoon.
The State Patrol says the 77-year-old man was driving south on Highway 52 when his SUV went off the roadway and rolled before coming to rest in the ditch. The crash was reported at 3 PM just north of Pine Island.
The injured driver was identified as Toni Nemanick of Eveleth. The State Patrol described his injuries as non-life threatening. The crash report indicates he was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol was not involved.
The Goodhue County Sheriff's Office, the Zumbrota Police Department, Zumbrota Ambulance, Pine Island Fire Department, and personnel from the Minnesota Department of Transportation assisted the State Patrol at the scene of the crash.
