Elderly Man Killed, Woman Injured in Minnesota Stabbing
Bloomington, MN (KROC-AM News)- A stabbing in the Twin Cities Thursday morning claimed the life of an elderly man and hospitalized an elderly woman.
It happened at a residence in Bloomington. A news release from the Bloomington Police Department says officers responded to a 911 caller who reported needing help and that someone was inside of their home around 4:40 a.m.
Upon arrival officers found a 72-year-old woman and a 74-year-old man suffering from stab wounds and blunt force injuries. The man and woman were taken to a hospital where the man died from his injuries.
Officials say his name will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner. The initial investigation indicates the attack was not random.
Officers also encountered a 44-year-old man, identified as Adam Garrett Roring, running from the residence when they arrived. He was taken into custody on suspicion of murder.
“This is a horrific and tragic event, and we ask for thoughts and prayers for the victims and their family. I am grateful for the excellent work of our dispatchers and police officers which led to the immediate apprehension of the suspect,” Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges said in the news release. He describes the fatal stabbing as an ongoing and active investigation.
