Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester police say the city experienced a fairly quiet weekend outside of a couple of incidents of property damage Friday night.

Police Captain Casey Moilanen says the window on a police squad car was broken when an officer on patrol was briefly surrounded by a group of people at the intersection of 4th Street and South Broadway. No one was arrested. The other incident occurred around 9:30 Friday night about a block to the south. Moilanen says a motorist reported he was driving north on South Broadway when a window on his vehicle was broken out after a group of people approached him. The motorist responded by driving away and reporting the incident.

The city imposed a curfew for the downtown district Saturday night and into Sunday morning as a precaution in the wake of the violence interrupted in Minneapolis. Captain Moilenan says officers did encounter a handful of people in the area in violation of the curfew, but most were unaware of the restriction, and all of them volunteered to leave on their own.
