Motorcyclist Killed in Alcohol-Related Crash Near Plainview (UPDATE)
Plainview, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota State Patrol responded Sunday afternoon to a deadly head-on collision near Plainview.
The crash was reported around 4 PM on Highway 42 just north of the Wabasha County community.
The State Patrol’s preliminary report says 34-year-old Christopher Nelson of Eyota was killed when a northbound car driven by 35-year-old Josh Hanson of Kellogg collided with his motorcycle and a car in the southbound lane of the highway.
Nelson died at the scene while Hanson was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. The State Patrol report indicates alcohol was detected in his system.
The occupants of the second car, 70-year-old Kenneth and 69-year-old Bonnie Miller of Rochester, were not hurt.

A spectacular crash snarled traffic on Civic Center Drive in Rochester Saturday night and sent a Dodge Center man to St. Mary's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The State Patrol says 29-year-old Casey Tyson was pulling a trailer with a pickup truck east on Civic Center Drive and was turning into the northbound Highway 52 entrance ramp when his vehicle was struck by a westbound SUV, which ended up flipping over onto its roof. The driver of the SUV, 19-year-old Tanner Becvar of Hayfield, and his two passengers were not injured.
The crash occurred about 7:45 PM and caused a significant traffic disruption at the busy interchange.
