6 Charged in Minnesota Fentanyl Conspiracy Using Stuffed Animals

St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News)- The U.S. The Attorney's Office in Minnesota is charging six people in connection to a massive fentanyl trafficking conspiracy.

A news release says the individuals would distribute the deadly drug throughout the Twin Cities and surrounding areas. It’s alleged the trafficking scheme happened between August and December of 2022.

Court documents say some of the defendants would travel to Phoenix, AZ to obtain fentanyl pills from suppliers. The defendants would then hide the pills inside of stuffed animals that were subsequently shipped to residences in the Twin Cities area.

Authorities in Dakota, Ramsey and Washington Counties became aware of the drug trafficking operation and launched a joint investigation. That effort led to the seizure of six packages containing 30,000 grams of fentanyl pills, which equates to about 300,000 pills, the news release says.

The following people have been indicted for their alleged roles in the conspiracy and have made their initial court appearances:

24-year-old Cornell Montez Chandler, Jr.
23-year-old Robiel Lee Williams
30-year-old Quijuan Hosea Bankhead
24-year-old Stardasha Christina Davenport-Mounger
26-year-old Fo’Tre Devine White
24-year-oldShardai Rayshell Allen

Each of the six people are facing a conspiracy to distribute fentanyl charge. Prosecutors also charged White with one count of possession of a firearm as a felon and one count of possession of a machine gun.
