Rochester’s Flag-Waving 2nd Street Joe Has Special Message for Frontline Workers (VIDEO)
If you drive your car up or down 2nd Street SW, you are almost certain to see Joe Johnson. We affectionally call him Joe the 2nd Street Flag Waving Guy and he is one of the most positive people in Rochester, Minnesota. Today (Wednesday, December 2nd) Joe posted a video supporting the people working their butts off to keep us going during Covid-19!

Who is Joe? Here's how he describes himself...
My name is Joe. I wave to make people smile. You can often see me walking along Second Street to cheer up people staying at the Gift of Life, Ronald McDonald House and St. Mary's/Mayo Hospital.
If you see me, wave back. That makes ME smile! (Click here to follow Joe the Flag Waving Guy on 2nd Street on Facebook)
It wasn't that long ago, just a few months, in fact, that Joe needed our help and just like he loves Rochester, Rochester loves Joe right back!
A few years ago I ran into him and asked for the lowdown on his Thanksgiving / Christmas outfit!
PS - I LOVE Joe for flying the flag of organ donation. I received a kidney from my sister December 21, 2012 and I can't even begin to tell you how amazing that gift is. When you see him waving the Donate Life flag ,please use it as a reminder to be an organ donor, or, if you are, to remind your family you're a donor.
