Former Lourdes Tennis Coach Given Prison Sentence
Barron, Wisconsin (KROC-AM News) - A former longtime Rochester high school tennis coach has been ordered to prison for up to 10-years for his conviction in Wisconsin criminal case involving child sex crimes.
The sentencing order for 60-year-old Kevin Rust indicates he will be eligible for extended supervised release after serving 3-years behind bars. Rust earlier pleaded guilty to 2nd-degree attempted sexual assault of a child and a felony count of child enticement involving sexual conduct connected to a police sting investigation in Rice Lake, Wisconsin.
Rust coached girls and boys tennis at Lourdes High School from 1982-2009 and his teams and individual players won numerous state championships. His current address is in Minnetonka, and prior to his arrest last year, he was the tennis coach at Benilde-St. Margaret’s High School in the Twin Cities.
