Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) – It may be nearing mid-June but there was frost on the ground in NE Minnesota Thursday morning as overnight temperatures dipped into the low 30s and upper 20s.

The National Weather Service office in Duluth is reporting Brimson had the lowest reading at 27 degrees.

Crane Lake had an overnight low of 28 as did Hibbing, which was a record for that city. Cotton had a low of 29 and while several other cities reported lows of 30 degrees. Lows in the mid 30’s were also reported across other parts of northern Minnesota.

Cooler weather is expected to continue into the weekend in the northern part of the state.
