Undated (KROC AM News) - Minnesota’s first responders and public safety workers were busy again Friday dealing with hundreds of traffic wrecks and other mishaps around the state.

The State Patrol reported 389 crashes and forty of those involved injuries, including two in SE Minnesota.

A vehicle driven by 26-year-old Mohamed Sufi of Rochester rolled into the median of Highway 52 near Zumbrota around 2:30 PM. There were three passengers in his vehicle: 23-year-old Nicole Grinstead of Rochester, 25-year-old Alicia Molette of Rochester and a 6-year-old Rochester boy. Grinstead and the boy were taken to St Marys Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A Rushford woman lost control while driving on Highway 43 Friday afternoon and her vehicle rolled into a ditch. The State Patrol says 77-year-old Margaret Brommerich suffered non-life threatening injuries. The wreck happened near the Fillmore/Winona county line.

The State Patrol also reports there were 428 vehicle spinouts and 5 jackknifed trucks.

As of Saturday morning, the majority of state highways in Minnesota were listed as partially covered by snow and ice and several were completely covered.
