has been sentenced to 30 days of electronic home monitoring and two years' probation in connection with a traffic stop last year.

The Star Tribune reports MacDonald also must attend a safe driving course and pay a $350 fine.

A jury in September convicted MacDonald of refusing to submit to an alcohol test and obstructing the legal process, but acquitted her on a misdemeanor DWI charge.

MacDonald, a West St. Paul attorney, lost last week to Justice David Lillehaug. The Minnesota Republican Party had endorsed MacDonald, but party leaders backed away after it emerged she faced charges over the traffic stop.

MacDonald says she plans to appeal her conviction and is considering running for the Minnesota Court of Appeals next year.
