
Average Gas Price Tops $4 Per Gallon in Rochester for First Time in Four Years
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- For the first time in nearly four years, the average price for a gallon of gas in Rochester has exceeded $4.

That’s according to AAA’s Fuel Price tracker, which has the average price for a gallon of unleaded in the Rochester Metropolitan Area as $4.02.
It’s a jump of $0.27 per gallon from last week and is up almost a dollar per gallon higher than last year.

Rochester Sees $4 per Gallon Gas for the First Time Since June 2022
The last time a gallon of unleaded in Rochester soared past an average cost of $4 per gallon was June of 2022.
The highest average price for a gallon of unleaded recorded during that price surge was $4.79, which was on June 11 of that year.
Diesel prices in Rochester have been over $5 per gallon for the past week. The current average in Rochester is $5.07, which is up from $3.48 this time last year.
AAA: Rochester Has Highest Gas Prices in Minnesota
Motorists filling up in Rochester are paying above the state average for a gallon of unleaded. AAA reports the state average price per gallon is $3.93.
AAA is also indicating the Rochester Metro has the highest price per gallon of gas of all metropolitan areas in Minnesota. Despite that, Minnesotans are stay paying prices below the national average.
The national average per a gallon of gas has increased to $4.23 per gallon, which is up from $3.16 last year and the highest in four years.
The price surge comes amid continued conflict in Iran and a standstill in shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
