A University of Minnesota Gopher football placeholder, Casey O'Brien, has had plenty of hurdles in his life. He just cleared his latest hurdle: beating cancer for a FIFTH time!

Casey has been battling osteosarcoma since he was 13, he is now a junior at the University of Minnesota. Since he was diagnosed, he's had "a full left knee replacement, multiple lung surgeries, and several chemotherapy treatments," according to Bring Me the News.

After beating cancer four times, he was cancer-free for almost two years! Unfortunately, it then came back during this most recent football season. That's when a lot of people learned about Casey and his incredible battle. He had to miss out on the big University of Minnesota versus Wisconsin match-up in November. But, even while still battling cancer, Casey was able to come back and play in the Outback Bowl on January 1st.
