Iowa City, IA (Learfield) -- The number-19 Golden Gopher softball team won for the 11th straight time, beating the rival Iowa Hawkeyes yesterday, 12-0.

Minnesota has outscored its opponents 108-18 during the 11-game streak. The Gophers limited Iowa to only two hits Sunday. Minnesota is now 38-and-12 overall on the season, and 19-and-3 in the Big Ten.

The Gophers finished in second-place in the league, behind Michigan, whom they did not play in the regular season. Minnesota will be the number-two seed in this weekend's Big Ten postseason tournament taking place at Penn State. The top four seeds get a bye in the first round of the single elimination tournament.
Minneapolis, MN (Learfield) -- The 19th-ranked University of Minnesota baseball team could not get a timely yesterday and fell at home to Indiana, 3-2.

A fifth-inning fielding error led to an unearned run scoring for Indiana. The Hoosiers took two of the three weekend games from the Golden Gophers to sneak past them for first-place in the Big Ten. The Gophers are 30-and-15 overall and 12-and-5 in the league. Indiana is 28-and-17 overall, but 13-and-5 in the Big Ten.

The Gophers visit Purdue this weekend.
