Gophers Face Tough Start to 2020 Season – If They Play

Minneapolis (KROC AM News) - If the Gophers play football this year, they will face a tough opening stretch of games to start the Big Ten conference schedule.

The Big Ten released the schedule Wednesday.

Here is the University of Minnesota schedule:

Sept. 5 – at Michigan State
Sept. 12 – Michigan
Sept. 19 – Iowa
Sept. 26 – at Wisconsin
Oct. 3 – at Nebraska
Oct. 10 – Indiana
Oct. 24 – Purdue
Oct. 31 – at Illinois
Nov. 14 – Northwestern
Nov. 21 – at Maryland

Whether there will be a season is still up in the air.

Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren had this to say to Yahoo Sports:

 “Issuing a schedule does not guarantee competition this fall will occur in the Big Ten conference. We felt collectively that this was the next logical and methodical step forward in our process to be able to, at least, put some planning in place for our fall sports season.”
