West Lafayette, IN (gophersports.com) -- The Golden Gophers (10-6, 2-3 Big Ten) fought back from an 18-point deficit before falling 84-72 at Purdue (14-2, 5-0 Big Ten).

Rachel Banham scored 25 points to lead Minnesota and Carlie Wagner added 21. Karley Barnes led the Maroon and Gold with a career-high 11 rebounds. After falling behind, Minnesota surged back to make the game 55-54 early in the fourth quarter before Purdue pulled away for the win.

The two teams played a nearly even game in shooting percentage (.391 for Minnesota, .388 for Purdue), rebounding (44 for Purdue, 43 for Minnesota) and points in the paint (36 for Minnesota, 32 for Purdue). Purdue had a 20-13 edge in points off turnovers to help it get the victory.

UP NEXT Minnesota returns to Williams Arena for two straight home games. The Gophers will start by hosting Indiana on Sunday, Jan. 17 at 2 p.m. That game can be heard on 1340 KROC AM beginning with the pre-game show at 1:30. They will then play Northwestern on Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m.
