Gophers Fall into Tie for First
Ann Arbor, MI (Learfield) -- The Minnesota Gophers are tied for first place in the Big Ten Conference hockey standings, with just three games left in the season.
Minnesota dropped a 5-3 decision at Michigan Friday night, paired with Wisconsin's victory at Penn State. Taylor Cammarata, Rem Pitlick and Vinni Lettieri had goals in the loss.
Minnesota had a two-goal lead in the first period behind Cammarata and Pitlick, but couldn't hold it. After the Wolverines tied the score, Lettieri gave his team the edge again -- then Michigan scored the last three goals of the game.
The same two teams square off tonight at 7:30 p-m in Ann Arbor. You can hear the game on KROC AM starting at 7 o'clock with the pre-game show.
