St Paul (KROC AM News) - Governor Mark Dayton has signed a $1.4-billion bonding bill that includes funding for some Rochester-area projects and a new veterans home in Preston.

Also included is funding for a long-planned upgrade of Highway 14 between Dodge Center and Owatonna. The $160-million project will make Highway 14 a continuous four-lane roadway between Rochester and I-35 in Owatonna.

Projects in the bill include:

$22.8-million for a planned major makeover at RCTC

$2.5-million for a new bus garage in Rochester

$640,000 for the Lake Zumbro project

$10.2-million for a veterans home in Preston

$8-million for the National Eagle Center in Wabasha

$2.5-million for Oronoco’s wastewater treatment project

The bill was approved by the Minnesota House and Senate on the final day of the 2018 legislative session.
