Guilty Plea in Brutal Rochester Domestic Assault Case
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man charged with a brutal domestic assault last year has entered a guilty plea.
Court records show 22-year-old Kareem Hollins admitted to a third-degree assault charge through a plea agreement that calls for dismissing three other felony counts, including first-degree burglary, domestic assault by strangulation, and tampering with a witness. He is scheduled to be sentenced on March 15th.
Hollins was charged last September after a woman reported to police that he had choked her until she passed out, and also punched her all over her body and face before leaving. The victim told police Hollins later returned to her residence and attacked her again after entering through her bedroom window. The charges alleged that during that assault, he kicked her in the mouth and stomach after she fell to the floor when he grabbed her by the hair.
The court documents indicate the victim reported a long history of abuse by Hollins. In April of last year, a judge ordered him to have no contact with her after he was charged with stalking and domestic assault.
